November 12, 2006A sample of THERION's version of "O Fortuna" was aired as part of NPR's "Weekend Edition Saturday" program about the lasting appeal of Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana". The THERION version opens the show and gets a mention in the piece as well. Listen to the show at this location (click on the "Listen" link at the top).
As previously reported, Swedish multi-instrumentalist Snowy Shaw (MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND, DREAM EVIL) has been named the new singer in THERION. The group's new album, "Gothic Kabbalah", was recorded and mixed in Stockholm by Stefan Glaumann (RAMMSTEIN, EVERGREY, EUROPE) and will be released in January 2007 via Nuclear Blast Records. Snowy shares the vocal duties with Mats Levén (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KRUX, AT VANCE) and two female singers. A full-blown European tour with GRAVE DIGGER and SABATON will kick off mid-January. A complete list of tour dates can be found at the THERIONweb site.
